NSTA Product Requirements Document

Product Requirements Document (PRD) developed during DPI 678MB: Product Management and Society at the Harvard Kennedy School with Prof. Kathy Pham.

This project represents student work; no association with the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA).

Project Synopsis

I documented the desired features, functionality, and user experience of the search function and content library of the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA).

The goal of this product is to enable NSTA’s 40,000 members and other science educators to access the large collection of lesson plans, journal articles, professional learning units, seminars, e-books, and more that the organization provides online and for mail order.

User Personas

I developed 5 user personas (3 external / 2 internal), focusing on behaviors over demographic backgrounds.

User Stories

Next, I wrote an exhaustive set of user stories – short descriptions of a feature, told from the perspective of the user.

Wireframes

Based on the user stories, I outlined lists of features and created wireframes to illustrate the overall layouts and placement of key elements:
